omg four days left. time is passing by so fast, ive still got work to do, STILL HAVENT PACKED and i also need to meet people before i go. how like that?! doesnt help at all that i had a massssive allergy flareup yesterday which made me cancel a few plans including work. im finally recovering from it though, thanks to my tubs of moisturiser! i hate the humidity here seriously.
argh this week is chockablock crazy. tmr i have to go to the doctors for my inhalers (i have a great feeling the nurses are gonna scold me again, ive not been to collect any inhalers for AGES), withdraw $$ and get a new posb card, buy dodol, ikan bilis, kaya and assam pedas for the sg peeps in manchester/norwich... send in my time sheet at the airport. ugh. then wed and thurs is gonna be dedicated to work at pussycat dolls. i wonder what the dressing room at the indoor stadium is gonna be like. then friday packing day! yeah ive still not packed. stuffed a few clothes in my suitcase and thats it. hopefully i have time to chill with some people. ive not had much social interaction for quite a whileeee. ok if u dont count shonas party on fri that is. and the excitement of the trip hasnt sunk in yet

i have a new toy to play with :D
i got the nokia e63 on saturday when my mum and i re-contracted our phone plans. ive been hating on nokia for quite a long time now, but really, this phone is awesome. love everything about it! and it was pretty affordable too, i only ended up paying 68 bucks :) my mum got the sony ericsson c905 which has an ace camera (8mp!)
im flying off on saturday and i dont have time to meet people :( ive got work at pussycat dolls on thursday and maybe tues/wed too, and obv fri will be mad with packing (I HAVENT STARTED YET, HELP!). and i really want to go out. like party, yknow? the last one i went to was a-trak at zouk, and i cant keep listening to electro at home. i need a clubbing night manz. i already missed thriller! at butter this month AND steve aokis gig in bkk with leon which seemed insaaaane judging by the photos and videos. oh well. if i dont get a good night out in sg before the 6th, all hope lies in christian adofo my music guru in london

worldwide festival beach weekender was awesome. really glad i ended up working for it. great music all night long, and even greater company. still cant get over the awesomeness that was kentaro... jack beats was pretty damn sweet too
anyway its been settled... im off to england for practically the whole month of june. leaving sg on 6 june, arriving (tentatively) back on 30 june. super super stokedddd, i cant even begin to explain how excited i am!!!!!!
ok way too tired to continue with a proper update... my sleeping patterns are so bad i have about 4hrs of sleep a day. doesnt help that work is such a bitch too. thank goodness i have tmr off

so sleeeepy. i have a busy week up ahead of me. work tmr and fri morning at the airport, and then im working from morning till morning at the gilles peterson worldwide festival. really stoked for that because i was initially gonna pay to go, then i managed to get in as volunteer last minute

wow ok so i fail at updating this livejournal of mine. anyway some 'updates':
- i have a job! finally. i work at changi airport, checking peoples temperatures in case they have swine flu. pay is pretty good but the working hours are mad. i work 12 hour shifts (8am-8-pm/8pm-8am) but thankfully all the days ive worked ive been placed at the vip lounge at jet quay, the private terminal. we only get a handful of flights coming in each shift, and i get to "meet" pretty important people. think along the lines of former us secretary and sultan of brunei
- travel plans have changed YET AGAIN and if all goes well ill be off to england at the start of june. really really excited because ill be there for nearly 2 months and there are tons of awesome gigs happening while im there (GLASTONBURYYYYY OMG). cant wait to hang out in london too with my old friends. and we'll be staying in the north yorkshire moors for a while; we're going there to scatter the last bit of my dads ashes. good chance we might drop by paris or rome too! thats the great thing about going to the uk - the budget flights to other eu destinations
- currently saving up for a macbook. my ibook is really old, and if i decide to move back to england by this year i need a decent laptop to do my work on, and one with a webcam so i can skype with my family and friends here when im stuck in norwich. my target is 2k (i want the new aluminium one) and ive earned about 300 bucks from work so far. if i can work alot more this month, i might just reach my target.
ok yeah way too tired to continue with this. i promise a proper update soon with photos or smth.. way too knackered to function

its been a good few days. went to see oasis live in concert on sunday (graduation present!) and it was so, so good. really glad i went in the end. today i had my job interview and im through to the second round. i also got to pick up the kaiser chiefs this evening and had a lovely short chat to ricky wilson about nevermind the buzzcocks and yorkshire. he is gorgeous irl, and he was so embarrassed when i told him that the episode where he was the guest host was one of my alltime favourites :)

"The NCTJ offers a magazine route into journalism. For this, there are five exams to be taken and a portfolio to be completed.
News writing: candidates write a news story of 275-325 words from material provided; two short stories (one 70-80 words, another 40-50 words); and suggest three ideas to follow up a given story using a variety of publication platforms.
Public affairs: central government: four questions on central government. Time allowed is two hours.
Media law: general reporting: examines general reporting (excluding court reporting). Takes in defamation, contempt, copyright, confidentiality, other parts of the PCC code. Time allowed is two hours.
Sub-editing: four on-screen subbing tests in which candidates sub a story and write a headline in a software package of choice. A piece of coursework - a page of real stories - examines design skills. Time allowed is two hours.
Shorthand (Teeline): a practical exam set at 80 words per minute consisting of two passages of two minutes each with an interval of 30 seconds; transcription time of 35 minutes is allowed.
Portfolio: a record of training, this contains evidence of knowledge and competence in feature writing; production and design; background to magazine industry and work experience. When complete, it includes six features or five features and a video."
WAH CAN DIE MAN. even to get hired as a journalist in a good company ive gotta do all this before i get a certificate from the national council for the training of journalists. arrrrrgh.
